Digital Rectified Photography

Digitally Rectified Photography for Recording Historic Fabric

I offer digitally rectified photography for recording historic fabric to a level accepted by Historic England and other government bodies. This is a system I devised myself using Photoshop to rectify high quality digital photographs from a Canon SLR.

Digitally rectified photography produces a technical drawing in full colour of vertical plane surfaces for use in recording and marking up for repairs. Using only a few survey points, a complete structure can be manipulated to be an accurate technical record in orthographic projection. It is the modern version of using a landscape camera to skew and rectify images.

I can produce accurately rectified photographs of historic buildings and archaeological sites. If you can provide scaled drawings of the subject, I can rectify from those. If not, I can produce the drawings and the photographic images.
