Church Work

Most of the projects associated with churches are for excavations for drainage, or within the floors of the building. Recently, there has been a trend to remove pews, pulpits and desks to create more room for family groups. In this case, the furniture is archaeologically assessed for age and significance which can also include timber decay testing to prove density (which increases with age). Other work has included recording gravestones and monuments before they are moved.
